From 27 to 29 November, the IV Congress of Young Scientists took place at the Sirius federal territory. This year its theme is "Science for technological leadership and response to global challenges: people, ideas, co-operation".

The Congress is an important event in 2024 within the Decade of Science and Technology announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin. It has become the largest platform for dialogue between advanced and fundamental science, government authorities and the real sector of the economy and sets the main vectors of Russia's scientific and technological development.

The event was attended by 7 thousand people from 60 countries and 500 universities, including 100 foreign ones - scientists and graduate students, teachers of universities and schools who have achieved significant results. Ulyanovsk State Technical University was represented by Vadim Moshkin, Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation, and Senior Research Fellow of the Research and Innovation Department Gleb Guskov. The young scientists were engaged in research in the field of artificial intelligence. Denis Efremov, Director of the Scientific and Educational Centre "Boiling Point of UlSTU" was also invited to participate in the Congress.

"Participation in the Congress is a great opportunity to make new acquaintances with colleagues in the scientific environment, to see what colleagues are doing, to listen to plenary reports on the general vector of development of each branch and Russian science as a whole. We attended events organised by the Russian Science Foundation and were able to ask questions to Russian Science Foundation representatives and experts. How grant support participants put the Ulyanovsk region on the Russian Science Foundation map" - said Gleb Guskov.
