The ICEA-2025 international energy conference was held in Djibouti, in the east of Africa, focusing on the development of green energy, approaches to its generation, as well as industrial production of clean energy. The conference included a tour of Djibouti's energy infrastructure, including the country's largest wind farm, Goubet.

Vladislav Moiseev, Senior Lecturer of the Information Systems Department, travelled to the conference fr om Ulyanovsk State Technical University. In his speech he presented a research devoted to the assessment of heat energy consumption in residential buildings during the heating season using artificial intelligence and analysis of heterogeneous data.

"It may seem that the heating problem for Africa is not significant, but if you change the heating of houses to their cooling - the task becomes maximally relevant for this region" - commented Vladislav Moiseev.

Djibouti's energy system is largely dependent on electricity supplies from neighbouring Ethiopia, making the development of its own generation a strategically important task for the state. The country's unique geographical and climatic conditions create favourable prerequisites for implementing projects with minimal costs.

"The conference participants were given a very warm welcome and were helped everywhere and in everything. It was the first time such a large international conference was held in Djibouti, but the organisers did their best and did everything on the level! The opening ceremony was particularly memorable, wh ere students from the local university performed national dances of the peoples living in Djibouti" -  says the teacher.
