Cooperation agreement between Ulyanovsk State Technical University and "Rostelecom"
On May 12, UlSTU signed a cooperation agreement between the university and the regional branch of "Rostelecom".
The document was signed by the Rector of Ulyanovsk State Technical University Prof. Nadezhda Yarushkina and the director of the Ulyanovsk branch of "Rostelecom" Sergey Tolstograev.
"There are huge amount of opportunities for interaction between UlSTU and Rostelecom. In the nearest future we are going to launch a joint project to train existing staff of the enterprise. UlSTU also has opportunities related to the employment of new trained personnel in the company" - noted Nadezhda Yarushkina.
"Already now we are ready to use the technologies that are being developed at the university, in our company. In particular, this concerns the field of artificial intelligence, information security of engineering systems. In addition, we are interested in training personnel not only for our organization, but also for the communications and information technology industry as a whole. The company's capabilities and resources allow it to cover the full range of the industry's activities" - told Director of the Ulyanovsk branch of Rostelecom Sergey Tolstograev.
The interaction between the university and the company will be aimed at long-term cooperation, development of innovative technologies and training of personnel.
Rostelecom is Russia's leading long-distance telephone provider. Domestic long-distance service provides about 50% of the company's revenue; and international long-distance calls provide about 25%. Rostelecom interconnects all local public operators’ networks into a single national network for long-distance service. In other words, if one makes a long-distance call or originates Internet contact to or from Russia, it is likely that Rostelecom is providing part of the service.
