The RAEX rating agency, with the support of the Association of Rating Compilers, for the third time presented local university ratings for the federal districts of Russia.

Ulyanovsk State Technical University took the 15th place among the universities of the Volga Federal District. The final ranking tables include 299 universities from 79 subjects – this is a large-scale project to assess higher education in the country. The main task of local ratings is to identify regional leaders and strong specialized universities, which, due to their narrow profile, rarely fall into the federal ratings of the institutional level. The largest number of participants in the 2024 local rankings is concentrated in the Central Federal and Volga Federal Districts. The list of the strongest universities in the Volga region includes 54 universities. UlSTU has risen to the 15th line of the rating from the 18th (according to the 2023 rating).

The rating is based on the analysis of data obtained from independent objective sources, without questioning universities and conducting online surveys. Universities are evaluated according to three indicators: education, science and society.
